Food Forest Farms in Federal Way, Washington, will be hosting a StyroCrete workshop from May 19th to 22nd, 2023. The workshop will be taught by Brian Norton, aka Scramblin online, a highly motivated and experienced builder who has been experimenting with alternative construction for many years.  

At this workshop, you'll learn the techniques and skills needed to create stable and sturdy building blocks using StyroCrete. StyroCrete is an excellent material for building because it is lightweight, durable, pest and mold resistant, and can withstand extreme weather conditions because it is such an awesome insulator. Since it uses the industrial waste stream of dense Styrofoam, which would otherwise end up in landfills, it’s an elegant permaculture solution.  

The workshop will start at noon on May 19th and end on the afternoon of May 21st.
