Join Rob as he reluctantly prepares for an appointment with his Functional Medicine team - an appointment that he forgot to reschedule. It's time to own up to his shortcomings...
It's equally important to discuss our failures as well as our successes - and talk about what / how / and why we do what we do, and the actions we take to keep moving forward.
The foundation of functionalmedicine is the use of food as a first-line therapy. The right nutrition, combined with lifestyle and behavioral interventions, will help you take charge of your health.
If we stand together, we'll never fall. We can make a difference.

Hi there and welcome back to another episode of the All Around Growth Podcast. My name is Rob Kaiser and I am your host. Today is Friday, September 30th, 2022, and this is episode number 433 of a show where we co-create life together. A show where you join me with my family on our small farm and homestead as we grow all around. A lot of this show in the past has involved various topics such as you know the financial aspect of our life, the physical aspect of our life, personal development, family, spiritual aspect of our lives, social and career, right? And that came to me, that framework came to me as or through 48 Days Eagles Network, specifically via the 2022 goal setting workbook, which I recently learned the link is no longer active, so I'm going to have to look into that and fix that. But nevertheless, functional medicine has been part of my journey over the last year or so. And it was a long time leading into the point where I actually was able to secure an appointment with functional medicine. And I worked that program quite diligently for a long time. Admittedly, when I left my job, many aspects of functional medicine and the way I approached it changed, especially when, well, in large part due to the uncertainty with my insurance and how that was all going to work out. I've worked that out. I've worked out a number of things at this point in life, at this point in self-employment, if you will. Yet I've fallen off track, I guess. Fallen off the wagon in in in in several ways. I've I've not really what am I trying to say? Uh as I sit here and drink coffee, something that I didn't do for quite some time. You know, li there's just been a number of bad habits that I have in you know engaged in. That I got dietary and beyond. That whether it's from I you know, I can sit around and make all sorts of excuses about why I do what I do. Right? We can all do that. And the reason I've you know I'm I'm I'm recording this episode today in this in this manner is in a sense I've got to come clean to those that I'm working with. Alright? The reality is I work with several doctors. I've already rescheduled appointments with some of them. And I simply forgot to reschedule this one. When I went to attempt to do so on Monday, I apparently had missed the deadline, and I simply didn't want to cancel the appointment. Because I feel like if I simply did that, I would be doing myself a disservice. So I think that it's important to have a discussion about where I'm at, you know, I don't know, and this appointment today is going to really encourage me to think about some things, in a different perspective. One that's perhaps not so different to me because it's one that I had viewed life through certainly at one point, but recently it's not the perspective that I'd had. So this should be interesting. And uh I don't know. Stay tuned in the telegram chat if you're interested in further dialogue on this. If you want to talk about this more in depth. Moving forward next week, we're going to most certainly circle back to topics related to the homestead with the farmers market recap and such. But this is a show about all-around growth. This is part of the the coming up of the show. Part of my story. And uh it's it's it's a little difficult to share your story when you're not really the most proud of it at the current moment. But sometimes I think that it's important to do exactly that. Share your successes and your failures because part of your story is how you overcome those challenges, how you work through life on life's terms in order to achieve what it is that we want. So, with that, guys, I'm going to wrap up today's episode and get ready for this virtual visit. I hope that you had a great week today or this week. I hope that you have a great weekend coming up, and I look forward to catching up with you on Monday morning. This is Rob Kaiser, and thank you.
