SPEAKER_00Well, hi there, and welcome back to another episode of the All Around Growth Podcast. My name is Rob Kaiser and I am your host. This is a show that provides insight and tools to build the life and homestead of our dreams. And the topic of today's show is consistency. And what I mean by that is consistency regarding personal development. And I mentioned this for those of you out there who are interested in show topics relating to success in these seven different aspects of life that we often focus on. And those are financial, physical, personal development, family, spiritual, social, and career. And today we're back to the foundation of the show, that which gives our life some structure and balance. And with that said, let's talk personal development. And for me, this is kind of an interesting topic now because I feel a bit stagnant here. Now, for example, when I was assembling today's show notes, I took a look back at past episodes on personal development. And this is kind of what I'm seeing. I mean, you can do the same, but I'll help you out so you don't have to. But just a couple weeks ago, we had episode number 375 titled Roadblocks with some notes that read Have you ever hit a plateau or even found yourself moving backwards in your personal development journey? That's right, sometimes we encounter roadblocks in our path toward personal development. It's normal and it's natural. Like many other situations in life, how we respond is what matters. Okay, so we looked at roadblocks kind of through an analytical lens at that point in time a couple weeks ago. And then in episode number 363, way back in the early part of June, June 3rd, to be specific, we had an episode titled Personal Development. With basically the Wikipedia quote, and it was May's, it was an episode that that consisted of me taking a trip down memory lane, reflecting on more than a decade of my own experience towards personal development and you know, sharing what I'd learned in the corporate world, and how I used much of that to um, or used much of it as a foundation rather, to build upon where I'm at now with regard to my own journey and path toward personal development. I don't know if you know personal development is a destination, but it's a journey of personal development, rather. So, you know, I I didn't look much beyond uh June 3rd because well the show has been changing and evolving over the past couple of months, right? Especially hell, it's been changing and evolving over the past couple of years, but it's definitely been changing over the past couple of months since going full-time on the farm here in June. Okay, and that's where I decided to just say, all right, enough with the search. Like it's there's been a lot of um yeah, a lot of change over the past couple of months. So let's just let's just roll with it. And it was at that time, too, that I realized that much of my own uh a big facet of of my my personal development has been journaling, right? Not just journaling, typing, you know, keeping a keeping a written log of stuff. I mean, sure, that's part of it, but it's been the actual act of writing, like in a paper journal with a nice pen. Specifically, let's see, this is a pilot precise v5, extra fine rolling ball. All right, and uh you know these are good pens. I I like writing with this. Um, there's also a seven millimeter that's a little too chunky for my tastes, but uh I I think that a critical component of the creative process and allowing ourselves to experience it, okay, even if you're not this artsy fartsy type, okay, and I'm not, but I think there's a lot to be said for engaging that creative process. And there's a lot of people out there that may say, yeah, okay, whatever, Rob, you definitely are that artsy fartsy type. What who cares? Okay, life is about perspective. And no one, no one's perspective really matters except your own. The man in the mirror. Like, so just just just screw what everybody else thinks, screw what everybody else says, and just just just do it. Like engage the creative process, engage the journal, and so I yeah. And and and so I with today as I was prepping the show notes and stuff, I just stopped. I just stopped. And I journaled. I grabbed my journal, and the reason I did this is because this is something that lately I've been more consistent with, but not as consistent as I'd like to be. And that brings us back to the topic of today's show, which is consistency. So I stopped the show prep and I and I journaled. So, what kind of journal do you ask? It's the best self journal. I'll link to it in the show notes. But for those of you who are curious, it is a 13-week planner that's backed by science and success psychology. It's designed to optimize your day, tackle your goals, and live a more fulfilled life. Like I say this in a sarcastic tone, and I'm not really selling this well, but the self-journal helps you set, plan, and track progress towards your biggest goals. You can be more productive. Oh, okay, you you get it, right? It's fountain pen-friendly, 100 grand, premium paper. That's what matters to me. It's a hardcover book that's uh 5.75 by 8.5 inches in size. It's got a nice strap around it, too. Just check it out. I'll link to it in the show notes. It's good stuff, and um, this is this is a journal that I have been using for almost two years now. I began doing this in in 28 three years, maybe longer. I've been I've been journaling like this for quite some time. And when I began, you know, it was kind of weird. My my writing muscles were not what they used to be. And even this process of journaling has gotten me thinking that you know we're we're we're we're losing what we we're losing in large part what made us who we are and what what made us human. And I know that sounds a little extreme, and we're not really gonna dive into that right now today, but if you guys are interested in that, then you just have to let me know in the show chat or send me an email at allarundgrowth at gmail.com, and I can certainly do an episode on that later. But yeah, back to journaling. As I journaled and as I began writing and beginning my day as I had begun many others, I felt a sense of calm. Okay. And I think there's a lot to be said about this routine in our days. I believe there's much to be said about the consistency regarding this routine as well. And consistency in anything else in life, for that matter. So after getting my thoughts on paper for the day, it became surprisingly easier to assemble these notes. Or maybe not surprisingly easier. Of course it would be easier, right? It became surprisingly easier to find this flow state where the work comes to us naturally. Now, implementing routine and implementing it consistently and understanding how I operate best as a person, this is all part and parcel of better understanding what it takes to optimize my own world of personal development. And I'm confident that the best self-journal can help you too. Okay. And I promote it because it's one that I've been using for years, and you can save 15% off your first order with a promo code YMF like York Meadow Farm. But look, I'm not trying to shill this to make a buck. I'm just saying, hey, if you are interested, you can save 15% off your first order. But the reality is, guys, you can oftentimes score better deals through Honey or internet browser searches, or do what I did, which is buy the journal and try it out. And when I liked it, I waited until there was deals like Black Friday or New Year's Day, where there were like 50% off, and then I bought a bundle of four, which you're already saving money money in a four-pack bundle for a year, and then at 50% off, it's it's a screamer deal. So um if you like it, look for ways to save money like that. Don't necessarily just use my promo code because it's it is what it is. Um but there are great there are great journals out there. This is certainly one of them, and uh I would just encourage you to journal and journal consistency. So definitely consider checking it out. And you know, hopefully that hopefully these thoughts on routine, consistency, and personal development were of value today. And if you like what you hear, please be sure to spread the word on social media. Alright, we're taking steps to improve our Facebook presence. Slowly but surely, we've got some help out there from audience members, and this is most appreciated. We're going to uh we're gonna get there, but but uh but but the reality is we all have lives that we're living, and this is going to uh take some time for all of this to come together and for me to communicate what we're doing or what our goals and objectives are with all of this to this individuals, and and no worries, everything is everything is good. So yeah, um yeah, like I said, we're working on our Facebook and social media presence, but you are welcome to spread the word on your own and encouraged to do so. I mean, the show has gotten to the point where it is in large part because of you, and for that I'm grateful. I mean, it's not like we have a tremendous following at this point, but we have reached a couple milestones that I haven't even uh that I've neglected to share. Um, recently we hit 10,000 downloads, and when I say recently, I mean you know, like a couple of months ago, but that was back right in the midst of when I was leaving my job and going through a bunch of transition. But uh to me that's kind of a big deal, and seeing as though I haven't actively promoted this other than some sharing on social media, I haven't made a concerted effort, like engaged in what I would consider a campaign, a promotional campaign. I'd still like to think that much of this show and the way it's grown is because of grassroots efforts shared by you guys. And like I said, for that, I very much appreciate it. So that's about it for today's episode of the All Around Growth Podcast. I look forward to catching up with you tomorrow as well with a show on the topic of family. And if you have any suggestions for a family topic tomorrow, just let me know. I always welcome audience feedback, and I sure do appreciate it when I receive it. This is Rob Kaiser, and thank you.
