Show Notes

How do *you* deal with back pain?  If you're one of the lucky ones, you've never had to do so.  However, if you're like Rob - you've experienced some back pain in life.  Join him today as he discusses what he does to manage his own back pain.

What does back pain have to do with All Around Growth?

How does this factor into the how and why of our dream life?

Well, the life of my dreams is a combination of optimizing:

  • Physical Health
  • Emotional Well Being
  • Spiritual Wellness
  • Financial Independence
  • Purpose / Passion

If all of these 5 areas are in balance, we are generally "well"

Morning Stretch Routine is often Energy Lift Yoga

Dave Ramsey motivated me to run a marathon!

Running --> Pain / Problems --> Root Cause / Solution!

I could have just gotten different shoes or worn a brace...

...but at the root of it, I needed to change my running form

I began running barefoot (minimalist footwear / Bedrock Sandals

Introduced to movement exercises, natural movement

I learned that my back pain stemmed from several things

  • Interconnectedness of the body
    • If your back hurts, stretch your hamstrings

Problems with physical health can often times be representative of problems in life

Examine all problems in life and get to the root of the problem

If you feel overwhelmed in life and don't know where to begin, set time aside one day a week for each of the 5 bullet points and focus on simply 15 min a day, 1 bullet point / day

  • Physical Health
  • Emotional Well Being
  • Spiritual Wellness
  • Financial Independence
  • Purpose / Passion

Even if it's just 15 minutes a day that you carve out for yourself, you can do it

You are important and you matter - make a promise to yourself to believe that

Repatterning your life to one of All Around Growth takes time

For just as long as we've been engaging in the habits we want to break...

...it will take even longer to repattern and repurpose our lives with new patterns

Longer focused routines for the back I like:

Ultimately, when we begin to take time for ourselves our problems become less frequent

Need to put in more time at first, but eventually the new patterns become easier

Eventually, we become the change we wish to see in ourselves...

...and the cycle continues.
